Hamline's Empty Bowls event supports foodshelves

Thanks to the Hamline University community for supporting Keystone's Basic Needs program through its annual Empty Bowls community dinner and educational festival about hunger, held in April at Hamline University Methodist Church. Sponsored by the University's Office of Service Learning and Volunteerism, the event involves students and faculty n decorating bowls, which dinner guests choose to use for a simple meal of soup and bread and keep as a reminder that many in the world are hungry.  The event featured speakers, music, soup from area restaurants, and family-friendly activities. Proceeds were donated to Keystone and other hunger organizations in Minnesota and in Haiti.
