Be a Super Hero!
March is Minnesota FoodShare Month! It's your chance to help fight hunger right here at home in this annual statewide campaign. Each March, FoodShare directs the largest food drive in the state, known as the March Campaign, and helps to restocks more than 260 foodshelves across Minnesota, including Keystone's three foodshelves. In 2009, visits to Minnesota food shelves increased more than 25 percent. More than one million Minnesotans live in households struggling to put food on the table. So this year, Minnesota FoodShare has set a record-setting goal – to raise 12 MILLION POUNDS AND DOLLARS.
How can you help?
Here are some ways you can be a SUPERHERO in the fight to end hunger in Minnesota:
• Organize food and fund drives for your local food shelf during March.
• Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers about the March Campaign.
• Donate to Minnesota FoodShare. Every dollar contributed to the March Campaign will go to Minnesota food shelves to purchase food. And remember, cash increases the purchasing power of each food shelf.
