  • BankCherokee bike finds a home

    Having a new bike for errands and recreation is yet another step toward stability for Keystone client Pam, a 21-year-old mother of three. Pam received the bike that was recently donated to Keystone by BankCherokee, a Keystone Business Partner. Read more »

  • Volunteers tackle repacking 8,000 pounds of bulk rice

    Volunteers from Grace Church Roseville and Rose Hill Alliance Church joined forces on Saturday, April 21, to repack 8,000 pounds of bulk rice for Keystone Community Services food shelves. 

    Rice is an important part of every meal for many Keystone food shelf clients. Buying it in bulk and repacking it is more economical than purchasing pre-packaged rice, according to Margo Kemp Johnson, Keystone's director of community relations. Read more »

  • Hamline community fills bowls for food shelves

    More than 200 people took part in this year's Empty Bowls community dinner and educational festival at Hamline University in April. The student-led event, sponsored by the University's Office of Service Learning and Volunteerism, raised more than $1,000 for Keystone's food shelves. Christine Pulver, Keystone's Basic Needs director, was among the speakers who talked about the problem of hunger in our community and around the world. Thanks to all who participated in this informative event and made a donation to fight hunger.

     

     

  • Ron's Bar takes top honors in food drive challenge

    It was a last-minute delivery that put Ron's Bar in the lead of the first annual food drive competition that took place in March among three  bars in St. Paul's North End neighborhood.  At the final weigh-in at Keystone's Rice Street Food Shelf on April 3, Ron's Bar owners Shannon and Jeff Isaac were proclaimed champions — they are pictured holding the specially designed 'trophy' for having collected 997 pounds of food during the campaign.   • North End bars compete for food drive honors

    Three bars in St. Paul's North End neighborhood are vying to see which can bring in the most food shelf donations during March, which is MN FoodShare Month. Read more »
