Nash Finch leads the way
During Nash Finch's "Hand in the Community" day in early June, 14 employee volunteers from the company helped paint the entire Rice Street food shelf, giving it a much needed face lift in just one day. This big job involved not only applying fresh paint to the walls but also reassembling all the shelving and storage spaces.
"We certainly could not have done it without them," said Margo Kemp Johnson, Keystone's community resource manager. "The food shelf is so much more inviting now for our clients, and we thank our Nash Finch friends for making it possible."
This is just one of the many ways that the Nash Finch Foundation supports Keystone both financially and through in-kind donations of food and hands-on volunteer assistance. "We are so appreciative of the wonderful relationship with Nash Finch and the Nash Finch Foundation, which has provided foundation grants, book donations, food donations, and the gift of volunteer time," said Eric Nyberg, Keystone president.
Nash Finch is an inaugural member of Keystone Business Partners, a program aimed at strengthening the affiliation between Keystone Community Services and area businesses.
